Ocado wanted to bring delegates from around the world together in order to showcase how and why they are leaders in commerce technology and demonstrate their offering of unique and bespoke partnerships with each of them. This was an opportunity to demonstrate Ocado’s pioneering technology and capture their innovations, their strategy, and their vision.

We brought 150 international delegates together in London for a face-to-face showcase to demonstrate how Ocado partnerships can take them and their customers far beyond their expectations. To do this, we made sure we designed an overall experience that brought everybody together, as well as hosting smaller, intimate breakout sessions to encourage discussion and networking. To help bolster the concept of true global partnerships, our strategy included giving delegates tech with instant translation, offering seamless interaction with Ocado and other others from start to finish.

Delegates took part in sessions with senior Ocado team members, who told success stories, learnings, and discussed just how this technology will help take them beyond their own and their customer’s goals.

Wanting to show just how Ocado are leaders in their field (and dial up excitement among attendees), an exhibition and demonstration of Ocado’s bots was given, showing their patented machine technology which packages, sorts, and learns in real time.

Our communication strategy was hinged on one crucial element – partnership.

By recognising how each delegate will need unique relationships with Ocado, we were able to thread that sentiment through the entire event. With each attendee arriving with unique business models, customer bases, and expectations; this meeting was a real platform to demonstrate how Ocado will take their partners beyond.

We demonstrated Ocado’s pioneering technology and shared their innovations, their strategy, and their vision.

Over the course of the last 2 years, we have delivered pre-event consultative workshops, partnering the senior team in identifying the right messaging, the right delivery mechanisms and experiences, the right language and the right tone of voice for the premium innovation event: BEYOND.

BEYOND draws together all of Ocado’s retail business partners from around the world. MCI conceived and delivered the inaugural BEYOND event, which proved so successful that the senior management team at Ocado identified BEYOND as the flagship engagement programme for the coming years. MCI now consults in developing pre-event campaign actions, event shape, presentation techniques and messaging delivery at the event, along with further recommendations that feature post-event communications, designed to sustain the impact and personalisation of the BEYOND programme.
