Enhancing event success for a global organisation 
 

Our partnership with doTERRA, a leading multi-level marketing (MLM) company headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, highlights the effectiveness of our consultative approach. Through close collaboration, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions, MCI Brazil delivered highly successful events that significantly grew in scale and impact. 

“When you have a trustful relationship, when the clients understand that you are not a supplier but a business partner and trusted advisor, you are not working for your client but with your client,” says Fabio Rossi, Business Executive Director, MCI Brazil. “And as a trusted partner, we always ask ourselves what we can do better, what we can do different for our partners. Our relationship with this client is a case in point.” 

Initially, we were tasked with organising virtual events during a time when such gatherings were new and challenging. Our first virtual convention for 2,500 attendees featured a high-production setup, including a stage with a piano and singers, which set the standard for subsequent events. The success of this event led to a second virtual convention with 4,500 participants, showcasing our ability to scale up quickly and maintain high engagement levels. 

Recognising the importance of face-to-face interactions, we encouraged doTERRA to transition to in-person events, starting with a gala dinner for 450 attendees and a leadership event for 1,800 participants. Our strategic approach and innovative solutions resulted in the successful execution of these events, demonstrating our flexibility and commitment to meeting the client’s evolving needs.  

In 2022, we managed several large-scale events, including a gala dinner for 550 attendees, a leadership event for 2,800 participants, and an annual convention for 6,500 attendees. 

By 2023, the annual convention attracted over 10,000 attendees, the gala dinner hosted over 1,000 guests, and the leadership event saw 4,000 participants. This growth fostered a trustful and enduring growth partnership. We are now also helping this client with incentive trips and training. 

 

Delivering strategic clarity for an association
 

MCI was approached with a unique challenge: to moderate a strategic workshop focused on the future of an association shifting from crafts to a niche building industry. This was a new area for us, involving a complex set of norms and regulations as well as sustainability challenges related to construction. We had just four weeks to prepare and execute the workshop.  

Our initial step was to engage in thorough discussions with the client to understand their requirements and expectations. We conducted 30-minute video interviews with 15 board members and, afterwards, ensured that our insights from the interviews were data-driven and accurate. This approach allowed us to identify key issues and points of disagreement and mood between the board members, and to collaboratively design the workshop with the client, leveraging the interviews. 

"This approach fostered a trustworthy relationship with the client, particularly with the president of the association," says Silke Weerts, Director, Association Solutions, MCI Germany. "As a result, we rapidly established a solid, trust-based relationship, which facilitated an open and productive dialogue." 

The workshop was therefore highly interactive and productive, and resulted in significant strategic clarity for the association regarding the importance of transformation for their future.
