Our team worked with SLB on a crucial repositioning project for their transition from an exclusively energy company to one tech and innovation within the energy sector, and so, vital information about this needed to be communicated throughout the event. SLB needed a flagship conference that signifies and achieves a true perspective shift. MCI’s role in this event helped to achieve this goal, as well as cultivate and drive communications and belief among 180+ investors, press, and of course SLB themselves.

THE SOLUTION

Elevating the experience through technology and storytelling

As a team, we were focused on ways we could use technology, storytelling, and other avenues to elevate the experience. All of SLB’s global leadership were presenting at this seminal event, and our team were there to ensure each speaker felt confident and the information they were sharing with this niche audience would have the most impact. From virtual product demonstrations via VR headsets, to fully immersive digital walkways, we took every opportunity to truly bring people into the ‘ground-breaking’ world of SLB.

THE RESULTS

Increased engagement and share price boost post-event

A notable result was attendance, not just during the event but afterwards. All investors and delegates stayed for the entire duration of the event, attending the afterparty to find out as much as possible about SLB’s technology, and ambitions for the future. This was a clear indicator that the experience we had created had real value among its usually time-pressured attendees. 

​Keeping value in mind, one impact which stands out is that SLB’s share price increased after the investors conference. The client reported to MCI that they immediately saw the benefits from the content choices that were made and the impactful storytelling that was threaded throughout. 

MCI created a living sense that the audience was travelling beyond the present and into the future, sharing in the vision rather than being presented with it. Many of the bespoke branded assets and concepts were put into their brand guidelines going forward as this was the first time the brand had been adapted in a tangible and digital environment. Throughout the event attendees were always shown how SLB are GOING FURTHER.
